Sick Babies

Well the little girl with dropsy is still alive I switched her over from Fungus clear to Maracyn-Oxy. So we will see how she does on that.
Montey has velvet but is doing just fine he is being treated with an ich medication because it has more chemicals that will affect the fungus vs. the other fungus treatment I have.
Uni I think is on his last leg of life and hasnt been eating and I am worried about him a lot. But he is old..

New Pet Project

I think my next pet project is going to be in re doing the VT. The poor guys have been over looked because they are asymmetrical which means that they arent a recognized fin type and cant show. They are viewed as mutts but I feel that they are a very important part of betta history and need to be recognized.

However I feel the standard could change... just a little wider ventrals but they need to still be long, the tail also needs to touch the dorsal and anal when it flares but it should have that lovely downward swoop. the caudal should enhance the swoop of the tail like the HM has fins that blend to make one perfect circle the VT should have fins that merge into one graceful swoop down.
Maybe just thinking here....

Bubbles!

Well Gringo has built a kinda tiny bubblenest under the bubblewrap by filling in the gaps lol gotta love him the female I realized needs to be out of the cup and she keeps her vertical bars. He is doing real well I hope they breed :) and the spawn stays good.
The last fry is getting sick and i dont know why so is Montey... I'm going to heat them up more and add some aq salt we will see if that helps.
But all in all the fish are good.

Hopefully I can breed Gringo and my new girl Rossie sometime this month so far though he isnt building a nest and showing absolutely no interest in each other. I took Rossie out of the sorority and moved her to a container by herself. Hopefully she will be okay. Gringo is in the breeding tank at the moment and he hasnt been building a nest. Sigh. Silly fishies.

In Other News...

I moved the last remaining fry from the tank and moved him to the 5 gal so he can pick at all the wonderful growing water fleas and worms lol.. and he has the hugest pectoral fins! I mean for a 4 week old fry they are massive and I can see them when he swims I think I will call him Jazz short for jazz hands also I hope he is a male lol.
Little Ryan has been growing like crazy sense I moved back home. A steady flow of clean water is coloring him up fast. Some photo's to satisfy...



and in other news sorry i am not around so much... my life has been kinda shredding its self but heck this is why I have fish they keep me goin! Doesnt matter about whats going on in my world I still have to care about them :)
