New males and stuff ;)

So my new males have both made nests the yellow boy Derp and the orange pineapple Jack or Pumpkin. I think they are settling in nicely. I really want to breed Jack to my choc female but she is being a little b**** and not flirting nicely. I got another male who I am excited for plus another pair from a wonderful breeder in Idaho. Hopefully they send soon the snow is sticking and getting deeper :/

Just some stuff...

Well the two betta I ordered have arrived. They are in good shape. All my spawning pairs have decided not to and I cant motivate them to. Not with food not with water changes... must be the weather... I swear. In anycase I am tired of not having babies... I am all set and nothing. But the good news is my vt pair might be ready soon. They are all getting super lazy and I am too not good. It must really be the weather. It is snowing the fish are watching lol. In any case I am hoping for babies soon. Oh and the yellows turned out to be all girls it looks like. Not bad but not the best. Actually having more survive wouldve been the best. But at least they are all healthy.

Rave: Filter floss!

Yeah I know really simple but this stuff is a life saver I haven't bought a filter pad for my tanks in years. I just shove the floss in the box instead cheaper and easier. I never have seen much benefit for tanks lightly stocked to have carbon in them. Just take what you need and rinse it shove it in box (be sure to stay clear of all moving parts :) ) Its way easier for me at least to rely on bags of filter floss. There are lots of brands I prefer the loose stuff instead of sheets but it does come in sheets for those who want it.  Seriously try some...
